Back at Bahia Honda

20111019-091145.jpg With much sadness we have left Geiger Key Marina RV Park & Smokehouse. Not just because it was a wonderful camping spot on the water, with full hookups, but because we had really hoped we could out wait the rain.
We decided since we were on the move that we would go into Key West. It seemed a shame to be that close and not visit, so we drove down Duval Street to the Southernmost Point marker and took a few snapshots. After that we had lunch at Banana Cafe, really delicious. I had the Ratatouille Crepe with Mushroom Sauce and Darren had La Poivree, a hamburger crepe served with a green peppercorn sauce.
We had reservations back at Bahia Honda State Park. I was able to reserve a water front site this time and the thought was to stop back by here on our way north. When we arrived we could see from the bridge that our site was flooded, but upon checking in they had moved us to a spot with more water frontage and further from the bridge. This is odd because Bahia Honda is always completely booked. Perhaps the people in this spot got tired of the rain and left. Which was good for us, otherwise, we would be parked in an axel deep pond or scrambling for some place to stay.
