Three days late and we are finally in Rhode Island. Our plans to drive down through the coastal towns of this tiny state were delayed a bit by hurricane Irene. We instead spent the last weekend in the Lake George region of the Adirondacks. It was plenty blowy & rainy there too. We were in a nice wooded spot and asked to be moved out in the open when a smallish tree came crashing down next to us.
It was a full-hookup-3-swimming-pool kinda place, but we spent much of the time relying on the genny due to power outages. In a strange twist we were given our current full-hookup site in RI for free due to lack of power and the power came in shortly after setting up camp. The picture above is from our current campsite, which we have just now come to realize would not have been available if it were not for Irene.
The picture below is the Hudson River in Albany, NY the day after Irene passed through.
